Sweat towel or after-session towel?
A compact towel for hands and face between games is a different size choice from one used for a shower. Find out which job is missing from their kit. Compare dimensions rather than names: 'sports towel' can describe a small cloth or something much larger.
Choose by feel and routine
Cotton can offer a familiar towel feel, while thin microfibre folds into less space. The recipient may already have a clear preference. Consider how the fabric feels against their skin, how they wash it and whether it will have somewhere to dry after the session.
Check the measurements and folded bulk.
Compare one substantial towel with a small multipack for a regular laundry rotation.
Read the washing and drying instructions, especially for printed or treated fabrics.
A small gift that gets used
A plain colour they like can be easier to work into existing kit than a large slogan. A hanging loop or pouch may be handy if they have somewhere to use it, but neither is essential. Keep a damp towel separate from rackets and dry clothes until it can be aired or washed.
