Personalised Photo Book: A book full of moments worth keeping

Bring a collection of photographs together in a printed book, from a favourite holiday to decades of shared memories. A clear layout and a carefully checked proof matter more than squeezing in every picture.

Make a small collection feel complete

Choose the thread that holds the book together: a holiday, a wedding, family stories or the places two people have called home. A handful of photographs with clear names or dates can be easier to enjoy than a densely packed record of everything.

A personalised photo book has images printed onto its pages. Some search results are blank scrapbooks with a personalised cover, so read the actual order form. If the recipient would enjoy arranging loose prints, a photo album may be a better choice.

Read the page and picture allowances separately

Twenty photos, twenty pages and twenty sheets describe different things. Compare the finished dimensions, binding and image allowance, and find out whether the seller provides a design service or expects a completed layout. A slim stapled booklet can suit a short collection; a hardback offers a different finish.

When preparing the images:

  • Prefer original files to small copies saved from messages or social media.

  • Leave faces and important details clear of the centre fold and trimmed edges.

  • Look through every page of a preview, including the cover, names and dates.

Only upload photographs with the appropriate permission. Keep your own copies of the selected files and wording, especially if several relatives are contributing.

Allow for making and posting

Personalisation is part of the work, not an instant finishing touch. Leave time for any proof, revisions and delivery. A low starting price may cover fewer pages or a smaller format than the example, and postage can add noticeably to the total.

Read the exact seller's arrangements for corrections and personalised returns before ordering. If written recollections would be more welcome than a picture-led book, consider a life story journal instead.
