Crayon Set: Color to grab, scribble and layer
Wax crayons turn a sheet of paper into an invitation to draw. Pick a grip and color selection the recipient will use, from a small everyday box to a larger set for someone who loves making pictures.

Start with the way they draw
A thick crayon, a slim wrapped stick and a twist-up barrel feel different in the hand. Think about the recipient’s grip and the marks they enjoy making. Bigger pieces may be easier for some users to hold, but the manufacturer’s age guidance still comes first.
A useful palette beats a huge count
A small box of familiar colors is enough for plenty of pictures. A larger range suits someone who notices the difference between several greens or blues. Count actual colors rather than repeated sticks in a classroom pack, and consider whether the box can be closed after use.
Washable is a claim to check, not a promise for every surface. Read which materials the maker names. Supply ordinary paper and ask the grown-up about the place where crayons will be used; washable wax and hard-to-remove marks can look alike in a search result.
Keep the little gift ready to use
If the crayons are for a stocking, measure the whole box. A sheet of suitable paper or a separate coloring book makes the next activity obvious, but neither is necessarily included. Keep crayons separate from soft toys or textiles when wrapping them for travel.
